chelation-edta

The meaning of the word is “to grab” to “to bind”. Chelation therapy is a chemical process in which a synthetic solution, called EDTA, that binds the toxins in the bloodstream and evacuate them from the body. It is usually used as a therapy for mercury or lead poisoning, and also has the ability to “grab” heavy metals and minerals such as copper, iron, arsenic, aluminum, and calcium and safely excretes them from the body.

It is used as part of detoxification programs in many integrative cancer clinics, to help improve blood circulation, strengthen the immune system and eliminate free radicals.

Dr. Romero from IBC Hospital talks about the effect achieved by Chelation Therapy, as part of the treatment for Detox:

Chelation Therapy should be delivered exclusively by a qualified, experienced physician, as many details must be taken into account: The use of medications for a long period of time, chemotherapy or radiation, medical conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, or high blood pressure, heart and blood circulation problems, risk for a stroke or neurological condition etc.
